Blankney Farm Update – 12 June 2020
The last 12 weeks have been the driest period on record here at our Navenby weather station. Mr. Parker started this station in 1948.
Irrigation on our main forage crops has been flat out since April 20th. Recent rain has helped but too late for our winter sown crops, Wheat and Barley, expect to see the combines out early this year. Harvesting wheat in July is a possibility.
The conservation strips are working very well this year and we have seen two new residents a Red Kite and a Short Eared Owl.
