Blankney Farm Update – 14 June 2019
Early in June, crops were going into serious stress with soil moisture defecits reaching 80mm. On the 7 June, it started raining and by 14 June we had reached 135mm (bibilical rain!). Since then, crops have grown extremely well, other than some surface ponding damage; however, it is better to have the rain to secure our Harvest!
Irrigation has stopped with soil moisture defecits currently at -25mm. We will see some drainage which will help the heath becks continuing to flow during the summer, which will also help our environment.
