Blankney Farm Update – 16 May 2019
Rain arrived on the 9th May 2019 where we had 35mm; this has halved the soil moisture deficit, which had reached 65mm. This has helped all of our crops and combined with the recent sunshine this week, everything is growing well.
Grass harvesting continues and to ensure a third cut, we continue to irrigate the grass, which is typically using 2mm of water a day.
Maize is now all drilled, so we now wait for our second harvest of Lucerne, which has started this week.
