Blankney Farm Update – 22 December 2023
On the run up to Christmas we have managed to drill our wheat target area, by continuing to drill after lifting sugar beet – our last field was completed this week. 3,000 acres of wheat is in the ground; the farm team have coped and adapted very well to achieve this.
Let’s hope the start of 2024 is more forgiving and we can get on with drilling spring barley next year.
Sugar beet harvest is still going well – 62% has been lifted and yields have been maintained, 50% is now delivered.
Our nettles have gone to bed (!) and have entered their dormant phase.
We hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2024.
