Blankney Farm Update – 28 April 2021
April has been a record dry and frosty month, all of which has contributed to poor crop growth on our winter crops.
We have been able to establish all of our spring cropping – these crops now need a good rain and warming conditions to be able to get going.
Continued dry conditions will compromise our spring crops and have compromised our first grass cut, which started on 20th April. 1st cut yields are poor quality, however, we are busy irrigating the grass and with warmer weather, this should hopefully begin to flourish.
