Blankney Farm Update – 8 February 2022

Our sugar beet harvest is nearing the end with 85% of the crop harvested, giving us an average yield in excess of 86 tonnes a hectare (34.8 tonnes an acre).

Spring barley drilling is going well with over 45% of the crop now in the ground. We will soon be drilling the remainder of the crop and undersowing lucerne and grass.

Our malting barley is now being delivered to Coors – this programme will continue through to the end of March.

Animal feed sales have been popular and we have increased our storage shed capacity, so we can supply our farmer customers reliably through the rest of winter.
